Dr Gargi Sinha MBBS,MPH is a health provider and Alcohol and Other Drugs researcher . She completed her MBBS from one of the premier institute of India: Lady Hardinge Medical College New Delhi. Soon after her medical graduation, she completed her advanced training in field of Medical Acupuncture. She also holds Graduate Diploma of Public Health with distinction and Master of Public Health (MPH) from Edith Cowan University , Western Australia. Her strong communication skills of academic presentation and writing has been appreciated on several platforms and helped her to gain a high distinction (WAM 80 +) in Public health Strategies from Edith Cowan University , Western Australia .
While completing her health science research projects for Master of Public Health she had opportunity to learn the nuances of substance use and qualitative research under supervision of eminent researchers of Australia. During her research Us versus Them: Newspaper portrayal of Melbourne Medically Supervised Injecting Room her finding elaboratively discussed the sensitive topic of stigmatisation of People Who Use Drugs (PWUD) and how media and society negatively constructing images of vulnerable and marginalised population of PWUD.
She is successfully collaborating with the researchers of India and abroad to understand the evidence-based practices in Health Science. Her research interest areas are harm minimisation of alcohol in young population and role of ear acupuncture.
Her challenging yet unique project Nasha Mitra is currently running in Tripura with the involvement of local population. She holds Membership of Australian Integrative Medicine and had the privilege of attending Australian Medical Acupuncture Conference at Perth Australia. She represent her team of medical acupuncturist at Sinhacure -India at various conferences including Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Annual Conference at Perth and Adelaide. She is also an international member of Australian Health Promotion Association . She is author of two books
